| | School LeviesNovember 6, 2008 - Robert "Bubba" Kapral We commend voters in two local school districts for passing levies. The Switzerland of Ohio School District was in dire need of renewal of its funding request. The monies are needed for simple operation and upkeep of the expansive district. Levy approval will mean new books can be bought. The bus fleet will also be maintained in proper and safe fashion. In addition, building upkeep will be possible. Indian Creek will be able to build a new junior high school. In Mingo Junction voters gave thumbs up to the district's levy. The new building in necessary and may help better bond the Mingo and Wintersville communities which never truly meshed when consolidation came calling. Switzerland of Ohio will also be looking for support of a state building issue next year. If passed, every school building in the district would either be replaced or renovated with the state shouldering much of the bill. It is a deal much too good to reject.
