Who would have thunk it? Both Steubenville and Wheeling losing in the state football playoffs on the same weekend. I, for one, did not think such a scenario was possible. Regardless, we realize both the Big Red and Maroon Knights are special athletic programs, not just in the realm of football. Coach Reno Saccoccio and Coach Mike Young have established an eliteness in their respective programs. Both are admired across the Buckeye and Mountain states. Although both came up a little short in their quests for the brass ring this season, both should be honored for tremendous seasons. We also realize both Big Red and the Maroon Knights have state titles looming in their gridiron futures.
