Fiesta Bowl Media Day
January 2, 2009 - Seth Staskey
Fiesta Bowl activities kicked into full swing Friday morning as 30 players from Texas and Ohio State took part in Fiesta Bowl Media Day.
It's the final time the players will be available to the media during the week. The coaches will speak Sunday morning in their final press availability.
Ohio State quarterback Terrelle Pryor was not in attendance at media day, which drew many questions of Jim Tressel who said he was back at the hotel reviewing film and he would start the game Monday night.
The Buckeyes and Longhorns will have some free time this evening and while some players like James Laurinaitis has enjoyed the opportunties to hang out in the spa area at the team hotel, many players are going to either the Suns or Coyotes games thsi evening in the greater Phoenix area.
I got a call from former WTOV-9 sports caster Ryan Recker, who is now the sports director at KVOA in Tuscon, which is a little less than two hours south of Phoenix. He told me he would be attending the game Monday night, so a chance to catch up with him will be something to definitely look forward to.
In case you were wondering, temperatures are in the upper 60s already and are expected to rise into the 70s.
Stop back for more later this evening and check out the print copy of The Times Leader for more coverage of the Fiesta Bowl.
