| | Fiesta BowlJanuary 3, 2009 - Seth StaskeyMy first full day of Phoenix and the surrounding areas is in the hopper as the clock hits midnight in the Mountain Time Zone. It was a most productive day. Attended the bowl media day and got enough information for about 1,000 stories. Well, maybe a hundred or so. After a nice lunch provided by the City of Glendale, I filed two stories, sent some photos and headed off for some sightseeing. Drove through downtown Scottsdale and into Tempe and looked around campus at Arizona State University. Stopped into the athletic museum (similar to the Woody Hayes Center or St. John Arena at OSU) and looked around and saw a nice display honoring the Sun Devils' wrestling program with a picture of Bridgeport native Bobby Douglas. After that, headed back to the room for a short break. Then it was off to Glendale to catch the Phoenix Coyotes vs. New York Islanders. Ate dinner at the Fox Sports Grill (Don't waste your time if you are in the area or find one of their five locations in the USA). Pretty good game to be honest. Coyotes (or as the locals refer to them, the Yotes) won 5-4 with Hillary Duff looking on in the crowd. Then it was back to the room to file another story for Sunday editions and off to bed.
