Sunday in Phoenix

January 4, 2009 - Seth Staskey

The coaches met with the media for the final time Sunday morning and nothing new really transpired from the proceedings. Ohio State head coach Jim Tressel informed the media that Brian Hartline will play despite the reports that he broke a team rule.

The team, band and cheerleaders will take part in a Buckeye Bash Pep Rally in Tempe this afternoon, starting at 4:30 Ohio time.

After that, it's back to the rooms for the team, a few meetings and then 11 p.m. curfew and bed checks for both squads.

The media has another party to attend at the media compound. Otherwise, it's a pretty relaxed day in the dessert.

I just got off the phone with staffer Kim North who informed me that ice was expected in the valley. Well, it's in the 60s, but the clouds are out in full force and we even felt a few rain drops Saturday evening.

Stay tuned for more.
