| | Buildings LevyJanuary 27, 2009 - Robert "Bubba" KapralThe future of the Switzerland of Ohio School District will be shaped greatly by the fate of its buildings levy. Every school in the district will receive a piece of the $86 million funding pie. The school system is in great need of new buildings throughout the expansive district, none more so than Monroe Central, where students go to class in trailers. It will cost the district's residents some bucks, some more than others, but it is the first time the voters have been given a chance to support a levy that is all encompassing. Now if the levy is approved in the May primary, the local share will be 37 percent. That would mark a huge savings as 55 percent is the going rate. At any cost, the levy is a must approval for Switzerland of Ohio students and staff. They have suffered way too long.
