WINNING MOVE

THE BELLAIRE Board of Education scored a touchdown this week. The school board voted to hire one of its legends as head football coach. He replaces Gregg Bonar who was not rehired in January. His dismissal evoked much bitterness within the district, much of which still lingers. We are not here to discuss the handling of Bonar's status. We do, however, feel that Jose Davis will make a successful head coach. He has instant credibility with his players and can help unite a divided Big Red Nation. Bonar had the program on the upswing. We see Davis taking the ball and continuing the improvement the Big Reds realized last fall.
