Summer Fun

June 2, 2009 - Kim Collette
Ahh....Memorial Day Weekend has officially come and gone.  Most of us are saying "HALLELUJAH"....the official start of summer!  The cold and dreary months are a thing of the past!  (Well....at least for a few months anyway!)Here's a list of some  fun and entertaining things to do during the "dog days" of summer 2009:

Cook your breakfast on an outdoor fire or grill

Go paddle boating (not just for the kiddos...what a great date that would be!)

Play a pick-up game of something....baseball, softball, basketball or football

Swing on a swing (no...we are not too old!)

Take a bicycle ride

Play hooky from work (or for us responsible types.....use a couple vacation days to enjoy the summer)

Visit someone you haven't seen in a long time

Go enjoy the beach; build a sandcastle, have a picnic, surf

Spend the day at a fair or community days event

Go to an amusement park (and....actually let loose and scream your lungs out on a roller coaster!
)

Go to a movie....(Those of you who get into "tiffs" about what to see, I have a solution.  Choose the movie with the most letters or the least letters!)

Go on a picnic

Take a one-tank trip somewhere to get away for the day

Go to a pool for a quick dip

Mostly......have fun and be safe this summer!

While I WILL take my own advice on what to do this summer, I still have favorites that I've looked forward to for the past couple of summers.

The Upper Ohio Valley Italian Festival

A Yankees baseball game

An Indians baseball game

Playing fetch with my dog Ryder (if he would just give me the ball back to throw again!)

Bocce ball, cornhole, yard golf

Miniature golf

Concerts or live music anywhere really

Sitting on the porch with a "cool" beverage

And...my favorite a long motorcycle ride with "Batman" and our friends!

Until next time friends!
