| | Be true to your schoolJuly 1, 2009 - Robert "Bubba" KapralTalk about stepping up to the plate -- you have to love the passion of an Antioch College alumni group. The Yellow Springs-based institution closed a year ago due to a sea of red ink and declining enrollment among other factors. However, Antioch may gain a new lease on life. The alumni group called -- the Antioch College Continuation Corp. -- is purchasing the defunct-school for $6 million. I am impressed an alumni organization can boast $6 million in assets. I am also impressed that it is willing to put it all on the line on a long shot. Some other hoops need to be jumped through before the group can finalize the deal by its Aug. 31 goal. Should the deal come to fruition, it will take the alumni group two years to get Antioch back up and running. I don't know how this will ultimately play out, but you have to be pulling for a group like the Antioch College Continuation Corp. I would say this is personification of school pride.
