| | Buckeye Local buildingsAugust 3, 2009 - Robert "Bubba" KapralVoters in the Buckeye Local School District are poised to go to the polls, deciding the fate of a multi-million dollar buildings issue. Should the voters opt to approve the issue, the expansive school district will receive more than $20 million in state funding to construct new buildings. It is an opportunity that doesn't come down the pike often. Many Eastern Ohio school districts have already benefitted from the state funding program, the most recent being the Switzerland of Ohio School District. I am of the belief that if the state is going to shoulder much of the burden to upgrade your facilities, then the school district should take advantage of the offer. Buckeye Local is surrounded by many districts sporting new facilities, thanks to the state building program, none better than neighboring rival Martins Ferry. If Buckeye Local is going to keep pace, voters need to give their support Tuesday.
