Don't rush class

The OVAC inducted its sixth class into the conference's Hall of Fame Saturday night. Some 17 worthy individuals were enshrined at WesBanco Arena. Along with those 17, five Legends were also feted. Legends are those who starred before the OVAC was formed or their respective schools were not conference members at the time their prep careers unfolded. The OVAC was criticized after this banquet ran until 10:30 p.m. While the affair was lengthy in duration, for those 22 honorees it was the culmination of their sparkling athletic careers. That is something that shouldn't be shortchanged. The OVAC Hall of Fame is a marvelous tribute to the conference and the people who made it the premier prep league in the nation. That being said, a long banquet is a small price to pay for six plus decades of excellence.
