| | Be PatientAugust 31, 2009 - Robert "Bubba" KapralBellaire's Jose Davis and Shadyside's Mark Holenka each had rough debuts as head football coaches at their respective alma maters, both being done in by powerful Generals Saturday. Davis and his Big Reds were done in by Sheridan while Holenka and his Tigers lost to Ridgewood. Both Sheridan and Ridgewood are primed for big seasons and both pocketed wins over the same two foes a year ago. Davis will get a more accurate gauge of his team this Saturday, facing John Marshall, a team it stands a good chance of beating. Fate is not so kind to Holenka, as his Tigers take on Monroe Central, Linsly and Wheeling Central in the next three weeks, all formidable foes to say the least. Week 5 and Rosecrans will be the first so-called "breather" for Shadyside. After John Marshall, Bellaire is staring at Buckeye Local and St. Clairsville in Weeks 3 and 4. That being said, Davis and Holenka may be unfairly judged by misleading records.
