NFL Predicions

September 8, 2009 - Seth Staskey

Well, the NFL season starts Thursday when my Tennessee Titans strut into the house of the Super Bowl Champion Pittsburgh Steelers to take on the champs in front of a national television audience.

Knowing our geographic location, I don't think I am going to win too many friends, but sometimes the truth hurts.

AFC East -- Patriots (12-4)

AFC South -- Colts (11-5)

AFC West -- Chargers (10-6)

AFC Central -- Steelers (13-3)

Wildcards -- Titans (11-5); Dolphins (11-5)

AFC Wildcard Round

Steelers and Pats (Byes)

Colts vs. Dolphins; Titans at Chargers

AFC Divisional Round

Colts vs. Steelers

Titans vs. Patriots

AFC Championship -- Colts at Patriots -- Patriots to the Super Bowl

NFC East -- Eagles (12-4)

NFC South -- Saints (10-6)

NFC North -- Vikings (12-4)

NFC West -- Seahawks (11-5)

NFC Wildcards -- Giants (11-5) and Bears (10-6)

NFC Divisional Round

Eagles, Vikings -- Byes

Giants over Saints; Bears over Seahawks

NFC Divisional Round

Eagles over Bears; Vikings over Giants

NFC Championship -- Eagles vs. Vikings (Wow, the subplots that would be in this game). The media will have a field day.

Super Bowl

Patriots vs. Eagles

Super Bowl Champion -- Eagles -- Andy Reid -- who was in the Wheeling over the weekend for the Rally in the Valley -- will guide McNabb and Vick to the Super Bowl title and everyone will live happily ever after.

My other predictions for the season is Lions will have the top pick again, but will win at least 3 games and the Browns will finish with the second pick.

Another prediction and this one might be out on a limb even moreso than any other ones I've made here, but Nate Davis will get to play before the seasons out in a meaningful situation. Not just in mop-up duty.

Anyway, let's kick it off and get it under way. The pre-season about wore me out, but since preps and college are under way it's time for the NFL to join in the fun.
