| | Easier AccessSeptember 22, 2009 - Robert "Bubba" KapralA couple hundred of feet can make miles of a difference. After more than two agonizing months, the landslide area on State Route 149 between downtown Bellaire and West Bellaire has finally been repaired. The area under repair forced one-lane of traffic on a busy stretch of roadway. It was often congested as a stop light controlled traffic flow. While the stretch of work was short in length, it proved a major headache to motorists, either detouring around West 23rd Street or waiting two minutes for the light to change, often with no one coming in the opposite direction. The reopening couldn't have come soon enough or could not have been received with more wide open arms. I have a new lease on driving life, as do hundreds of others on a daily basis.
