Pulse of the city

Wheeling came alive Wednesday night with the reopening of the Capitol Theatre. The downtown landmark's rebirth is a much-needed shot-in-the-arm for the city's leaders in their attempt to re-energize Th Friendly City. The well-being of the Capitol is a must if Wheeling is to become viable again, and not just a Highlands' casualty. The Capitol, and its business benefits not withstanding, is the heartbeat of the city, pumping life and a sense of activity in what would be an otherwise den of doldrums. The city's hierarchy must, at all costs, make the Capitol's renaissance a long-running and successful act.
