| | Youth is servedOctober 14, 2009 - Robert "Bubba" KapralToday's youth are frequent whipping boys (and girls). They are criticized for a wide variety of things. In some cases that criticism may be right on. But Tuesday night, the Bellaire High volleyball team reaffirmed what is right about today's young people. The Lady Reds rallied around one their teammates in support of her grandmother, who just recently found out she has breast cancer. The Bellaire High spikers put on a show of shows, not on the court but rather in the stands as they showered Dee Palian with flowers, love and unconditional support in her battle against cancer. In the process, thousands of dollars were raised for the Volley for A Cure campaign. The Lady Reds volleyball team reinforced the notion that there is a lot of good in today's youth while also letting Dee Palian know she has an army of support in her battle.
