Candy Corn!  Pumpkins!  Trick or Treat! Costumes!  It's that time of year again.....and I'm not a fan!

I've never in my life been a huge fan of Halloween.  It's my LEAST favorite holiday (which I don't even know if I'd classify it as such).  I don't remember getting excited to "dress up."  And...I don't remember getting excited to trick-or-treat.  But to this day I feel that the reason I truly don't like Halloween now,  is because I went to college at Ohio University.

Have you ever seen or heard about the extravaganza in Athens?  Well....I lived it....unfortunately.  That weekend felt like you had to "pause" your normal college life.  Streets were shut down.  Thousands of "visitors" invaded.  There was absolutely no parking available.  And....heaven forbid you try to grab a bite to eat somewhere. That was TRULY impossible.

I know I probably sound like I am complaining....and I am.  But unless you were there you just don't understand.  I think after my freshmen year, I just loathed the thought of Halloween.  In fact, I started to volunteer to work those weekends just to get away from the craziness!

Now I definitely have a distaste  for Halloween.  I guess I just don't get the "thrill."  Why would I purposely go to a haunted house to get scared?  Why would I purposely watch a movie that will make me afraid to go to sleep at night?  And...dressing up? I really don't get why I would want to spend money to wear a silly costume.  I guess the "Athens Halloween Experience" really scarred me for life!

That being said....I will take  the candy corn....and just count down the days  until "Turkey Day" arrives!

Until next time friends!
