The aging fiddler generates pork barrel funding to aid his constituents like no other lawmaker. Byrd has delivered another $200,000 nugget in the state. The Capitol Theatre was the recipient of Byrd's dropping this week. It came in the form of the "Save America's Treasures" program. The money will be well served in the ongoing efforts to revitalize the Friendly City landmark. Byrd's time in the U.S. Senate is drawing shorter and shorter. That is most unfortunate for West Virginia. His financial fingerprints can be found all over the state.
