44 Days of Shopping!

November 12, 2009 - Kim Collette
This is my favorite time of the year!   The holiday season is right around the corner!   In fact, there are only 14 days until Turkey Day and.......only......44 until Christmas!

Can you believe it?  I'm a firm believer the earlier you start your shopping.....the less stress you will have during the holidays.  Ever since I can remember, I use my birthday as shopping D-day.  So, as soon as September 14 passes, I start chipping away.  Then, I set my final deadline for shopping the first weekend after Turkey Day.  And you know what.....doing my shopping like this actually lets me enjoy the ENTIRE holiday season ....from Thanksgiving to New Year's!

Plus, starting early doesn't "pinch" your pockets as much.  I spend between $50 and $100 per week (depending on what other bills I have to pay).  That way come the end of December, I still have enough money to live!  We have "added" to out Christmas lists the past few years with significant others, their families and pets.  In all actuality I probably spend more on Christmas these days....but it doesn't seem like it at all!

I am also a firm believer  (especially since we don't have any "little ones") NOT to get a "wish list" from anyone.  Buy what you want!  If you wait for a'll never get done and probably drive yourself crazy searching for the impossibly hard to find gift your brother put on his list!

According to my own deadline, I have roughly 2 1/2 weeks to get the rest of my shopping done.  And once again....I will be done!  So to my family, boyfriend and friends....don't give me a list.....chances are I'm already done shopping for you!

For those of you on the prowl for some different gift ideas, here are some of  my personal favortie websites to shop from:

Good luck and good shopping to all of you!

Until next time friends!
