Thank God for Google
December 7, 2009 - Michael Palmer
Google is awesome. They have a 360 view for many areas of the state and Jackson is one.
So if you look for a landmark, Pickletown, on a known road, then look across the street. You can find your daughter's trailer and then contact the local police department.
Turns out she was just outside of town so the Jackson Police Department went the extra mile and contacted the Jackson County Sheriff's department to go and knock on the door of the trailer across from Pickletown to see if the occupants were alright.
The relayed message, "I'm OK."
So we figured that after the sheriffs department visit she might call. Wrong.
So the next day I went back to google and found an auto glass repair shop acroos the street by Pickletown and asked the receptionist if she would walk across the street to the trailer with the little black car in fronat and ask the daughter to phone home.
Collect call $10 and finally an explaination for the crying and paniced phone message. "Well, Zoey and I were both sick and Zach didn't come home from work."
"So you walked with a sick baby to the pay phone?"
Yeah, but Mr. Wonderful was sick too and went straight from work to the Emergency room.
And then, "Well, Zoey and I are going to the Urgent Care today."
Is anyone buying this load of horse manure?
The only solution was to get her a new cell phone. (Refresh the memeory, the last one was always over minutes due to Mr. Wonderful calling worldwide to all of his many, many firends? and got washed in the laundry) So, we bring them back and get them a phone, let them do some laundry and then back to Jackson.
Now we wait. Self destruct is a theme for Mr. Wonderful and it is just a matter of time.
Guess what I am asking Santa for this Christmas?
