Let there be light!

December 22, 2009 - Michael Palmer
As a photographer, you appreciate well-lit sports facilities. The gymnasium at Bridgeport and Martins Ferry were excellent places to take photos, and now add St Clairsville. The gymnasium at St. Clairsville has new lighting and I applaud the Red Devils’ school board and boosters for the improvement there. What a difference this has made. The whole gym looks better, newer, appears to be clean and is a more vibrant room to play basketball or volleyball in because of the brighter lighting. The walls and ceiling look white again, instead of the dull yellow glow that had been a depressing environment for sporting events. It was more fun for me, so it figures to be more fun for the fans and players. Check the before and after photos. The volleyball photo was taken just a few weeks ago and was shot with an f 2.8 aperture with a setting of1600 ISO at 1/200 sec exposure. The new one was f 3.8 aperture with a setting of 1600 ISO at 1/200 of a second. What do you think? Is it a whole new ballgame?
