December 30, 2009 - Seth Staskey
It's hard to believe how quickly Christmas snuck up on us and now it's even tougher to believe how quick it leaves. People spend countless hours preparing for the holiday. Whether it's shopping, baking, wrapping, sending greeting cards or even taking time to remember the real reason for the season, the birth of Jesus Christ, the Christmas season comes and goes way too quickly.
Personally, I had a wonderful Christmas and have no complaints. I received a lot of nice gifts, but most importantly had the opportunity to spend quality time with friends and family and relax a bit and think about all of my blessings.
Now, Christmas is in the past for yet another year and that means attention shifts to New Years, which arrives this Friday. Obviously, there will be plenty of bowl games, including the Ohio State Buckeyes in the Rose Bowl against Oregon. By the way, I've been on both campuses during the 2009 calendar year if that's worth anything or means anything to anyone.
Along with the football, it's time to look ahead and over the course of the past year, I've done some prioritizing in my life and have worked hard at those personal goals. Those will continue to be a work in progress. Here, inside the rigors of The Times Leader Sports Department, we'll continue over the next year to provide in-depth sports coverage about area teams. I am going to work harder to update this blog a little more frequently, so maybe I can draw some more feedback from you, the reader.
I guess we'll probably see you at some local event during the course of the next year.
In closing, Happy New Year and Go Bucks.
