Pass the chips or simply: Happy New Year

December 31, 2009 - Taste Buds
THIS IS a very dangerous time of year -- at least for our waistlines!

The Buds have spent the past several weeks eating Christmas goodies with abandon and plan to continue until the New Year!

Yep, come tomorrow all the cookies and assorted goodies that have graced our counter tops and been crammed in the fridge will go out with the new year.

Thank goodness there is still time to get in a little more junk ...

Bud Em has big, big plans as she will be ringing in 2010 by making sushi!

She is sooo industrious!

She has a rice cooker, salmon, avocado and cucumbers at the ready! She even has nori - you can’t just pick that up at the local convenience store!

This takes planning people!

Yeah, making sushi is something but Bud Tricia will be hosting a house full of tweens and teens tonight!

Ewww!

That means there has to be plenty of junk food on hand or they tend to rise up and revolt!

Viva La Resistance!

She’s stocked up on chips, dips and fizzy drinks as well as cheese and meat trays and, of course, pizza!

In an effort to throw a little “health” food at them, she’s sneaked in some crudite and humus with pita chips. She’s hoping once they run out of junk the sugar coma will make their minds cloudy and they’ll accidentally ingest a carrot or two!

Things will change once the New Year hits as all junk goes out the door and good habits return - hopefully!

The Buds wish everyone nothing but joy in 2010!

By the way, are we saying “Twenty-Ten” or “Two Thousand and Ten”? Either way, the Buds hope it’s a great year for all!

Now go eat some chips! There are less than 13 hours until the ball drops and the junk food disappears!
