Well, the first of four OVAC Championships came to an end Saturday evening when the 55th annual Ron Mauck OVAC Wrestling Tournament wrapped up on the floor of WesBanco Arena and what an event it was.
Wheeling Park flexed its muscle on Thursday and other than a short stint of Beaver Local taking the lead after the championship semifinals, Sean Doyle's Patriots reigned supreme to win the title his father won twice as the head coach at Buckeye Local.
Congratulations to all 14 champions. You've earned your place in OVAC history for ever. And to the folks coming back for the 2009 tournament, stay focused and maybe you'll be one of the 14 in the field.
This week the swimming and cheering championships will also take center stage.
