| | Unhealthy LegislationMarch 22, 2010 - Robert "Bubba" KapralAccording to latest polls, half of all Americans are opposed to the health care legislation rammed through by House Democrats Sunday. I have several issues with the legislation. Too many deals had to be brokered to make it happen -- the Cornhusker Kickbacks and Louisiana Purchases -- are just two. A health care bill should stand on its own merit. Moreover, Americans should not be forced to secure health care. That is outrageous. What happened to freedom? Should all Americans be mandated to get a driver's license? Or should they be mandated to go to church every Sunday? Why mandate health care coverage? The House passed the health care bill by the slimmest of bi-partisan margins, but I am not feeling good about it. Article CommentsNo comments posted for this article. Post a Comment | |
