Class 1-A

February 2, 2008 - Seth Staskey
It was billed coming in as to whether or not the Beallsville Lady Blue Devils could handle the St. John Central pressure. It lived up to its billing because the Lady Irish pressured the entire game and Beallsville handled it fairly well for the most part.

However, the Lady Irish said coming into the game they could handle the half-court game if needed. They did just that and went into their own big player with Sara Wamsley who came through to a tune of 23 points. The Lady Irish also got solid production from senior Kristina Velkovich who scored eight points.

Beallsville was led by Savannah Burke who scored a game-high 27 points.

St. John and Beallsville enter the sectional tournament next Saturday at Union Local. The Lady Irish are now 18-2 on the season and will meet River. Beallsville will meet Shadyside in the sectional.
