Misrepresentation

I BELIEVE the constituents of Ohio's 96th District have been shortchanged. The Ohio House Democratic Caucus interviewed five candidates Friday, looking to fill the seat of retiring legislator Allan Sayre. After the process ended, caucus members chose a political neophyte for the job. Joshua O'Farrell gained the appointment despite never holding political office. His appointment smacks with nepotism as his father is a Tuscarawas County judge. Tuscarawas County makes up much of the 96th seat. Naming a rookie to the job is bad enough, but when someone with the credentials of Mark Thomas is cast aside it is a miscarriage of justice. Thomas has proven himself as a county commissioner, attorney and businessman. He should have been named Sayre's successor.
