The Best Season Finale!

June 2, 2010 - Kim Collette

I really thought that I would be blogging about the LOST series finale.  Boy was I wrong!  The Grey's Anatomy season finale was by far the best episode of the year, maybe even ever.  From the first 10 minutes to the last minute, Grey's was powerful and emotional.  If you haven't seen it, I suggest you find it on the web and watch.  It was a great 2 hours of television.

Meredith Grey loves the hospital.  "Correction: loved it here," she said.  And we quickly find out why.  A gunman had taken over Seattle Grace Hospital.  The shooter was a grieving man whose wife had died under the care of Derek Shepherd, Chief Webber and Lexie Grey.  The woman was DNR.  Subsequently the doctors chose to "pull the plug."  The man, Mr.Clark, filed a lawsuit against the hospital and lost.  He came to the hospital for revenge against the people he feels "killed his wife."  When he doesn't find those three doctors immediately, he guns down anyone in his way...especially surgeons.

I don't want to go into too much detail and spoil the show if anyone still hasn't seen it and would like to.  However, I will say that the show was intense.  I felt like I was in Seattle Grace with Derek, Meredith and the rest of the staff.  I was nervously shaking.  I was clenching my blanket.  I was crying.  There were so many heart-wrenching moments in the finale.  My jaw dropped before the first commercial and didn't close until the final credits rolled.  Derek's voice over repeats the theme of the finale.  "Human life is made up of choices.  And it's not always in her hands."

This season finale might just have resuscitated Grey's Anatomy.  Definitely a powerful episode full of emotion.  What will happen next season?  Will the hospital ever be the same?

Until next time friends!
