Eli Manning and the Giants came out of the shadows Sunday night. Manning proved to the world that he was definitely worthy of his lofty expectations out of college and the Giants became the first NFC Wild Card team to win the Super Bowl.
Is it safe to remove Tom Coughlin's name from the "hot seat" listing. This guy is a disciplinarian who's been successful in both of his stops in the NFL. He's a fine coach and from all indications a equally good person.
However, on the other hand, Bill Belichick proved once again just how aloof he really is. This guy couldn't even wait on the field for the final second to run off the clock and then when interviewed after the game he was his normal smug self. I understand about being disappointed and upset, it's natural, but you can still handle yourself with class. Tom Brady, Randy Moss and most of the Patriots that we heard post-game comments from were noticeably disappointed, but they handled themselves like professionals.
Let's be honest, when you play defense like the Giants did Sunday night, they deserved to win.
Early Super Bowl prediction for next year....Cowboys vs. Titans. Sounds strange on the AFC side, but don't count them out.
