Developing Morristown

November 9, 2010 - Robert "Bubba" Kapral
MORRISTOWN may be a small community, but to its credit, village officials don't think small. At Monday's village council meeting, Morristown officials mapped plans to move the town forward. As a result, a Planning Commission was formed. The community's braintrust is looking to take advantage of the town's business-friendly location to go with its ready-to-go infrastructure. I commend village officials for being aggressive and proactive in regards to development. I have always felt the area near Union Local schools is a prime area for development. Located close to Interstate 70 and off U.S. 40, Morristown is well placed to attract businesses as well as visitors to its historic setting. Belmont County development is headed westward, and Morristown appears poised to make the most of it.
