We've gotten to a boiling point as to why the Eastern District Board refuses to put doubleheaders on the court during the post-season basketball tournament. Single games at 7 p.m. are really nice for the competing schools, but it really hurts the crowds. Let's fact it, neutral observers aren't going to come out for single games and pay $6 a little more than an hour's worth of entertainment. It's just not business savy. Let's look at the Division IV sectional at OUE for instance. I understand parking is a concern, but let's be real, some of those Division IV games you couldn't start a good fight at. Taking it a step further, how about this Thursday's Bridgeport-Caldwell game? They will play their tournament opener that evening and then just a day later return to St. Clairsville to meet Shadyside when the Tigers punched their ticket this past Monday. Doesn't seem fair to me, but oh well. The Eastern District Board is money-driven and that's what it comes down to.
