| | Christmas CardsDecember 10, 2010 - Robert "Bubba" Kapral Christmas cards are a rite of the holiday season. I am a card sender and one who enjoys receiving them. I hate getting a Christmas card from someone before I have a chance to mail theirs. With that said, I have come to the realization that Christmas cards should become extinct. I am not a Scrooge by any means. I love Christmas time and giving gifts. The gift-giving is a reason Christmas cards should become a thing of the past. They have become an unneeded expense. First, nice cards are costly. Secondly, each year the list of card targets escalates. Thirdly, postage is no cheap venture. But lastly, and most importantly, the money we invest in cards and postage could be much better spent. That expenditure could be used to buy a toy for underprivileged children in the area. Making Christmas a little brighter for the less fortunate it better than any return on a Christmas card. Merry Christmas! Article CommentsNo comments posted for this article. Post a Comment | |
