OVAC Championships

Winter sports are moving along at a brisk pace despite the seemingly never-ending battles with Mother Nature. The Ohio Valley Athletic Conference begins a five-week stretch of conference championships this weekend with the 58th annual Ron Mauck OVAC Wrestling Tournament at WesBanco Arena.

Other sports to be crowned in the coming weeks are: swimming (Jan. 29 at Steubenville); cheering (Feb. 5 at Wheeling); girls' basketball (Feb. 12 at OUE) and boys' basketball (Feb. 19 at OUE).

The Times Leader is once again your non-stop home for coverage of those events. We'll kick things off this weekend with daily coverage of the wrestling tournament. Along with our print coverage, we'll utilize our website for up-to-the-minute results as each weight class completes. Check our website early and often for blogs on upsets, events and anything else noteworthy. We'll also be posting some videos during the course of the tournament.
