Studs go on vacation

March 31, 2011 - Taste Buds
ONE OF the Buds is dealing with studs this week! It's probably not the kind of studs you are thinking. These studs are the kind that have helped this Bud get to and from work all winter on slippery, snow-covered roadways.

She is trying to find a day in her schedule where she can stop off at her friendly tire shop and trade her studded tires in for some smoother treads. This Bud knows the change will give her a much quieter ride but she also knows that without fail, she will see snow flakes falling to the earth as soon as the trade is made. Mother Nature just loves to pull off these kind of tricks!

But, the State of Ohio doesn't care about the amount of snow on the roads of the Ohio Valley after mid April. They have no concern for Momma Nature and her since of humor. The state also doesn't care if the mud in the driveway is thigh high. They want those "studs" to go into storage on April 15 and won't allow them to come back out until Nov. 1. Geez ... guess this means the "studs" will get to take a much deserved extended summer vacation.

If only we were all so lucky!
