Looking for an extreme challenge
EVER SINCE I was a youngster, I have always used the saying that I will try anything once and if I like it I will stick to it. This has led me to all sorts of endeavors which include scuba diving, whitewater rafting and international travel, to name a few.
As I get a little older, I still have dreams of doing many off-the-wall events, and another one of those events is approaching in the next few weeks. With a larger stature than most during my high school days, I was content with competing in contact sports – football and wrestling – where I excelled.
Well, as I entered the ranks of coaching, I slowly had to change my style and tailor workouts to the athletes competing.
In this transition, I found myself doing a lot more running with kids. As I started to conquer small mountains like the cross country course and long runs with my track team, I found out that I am still slow, but I enjoy the workout.
