CANTON — When the Shadyside Tigers said after last Saturday’s Eastern District Final at Meadowbrook that they weren’t at all close to satisfied with the district title, which had eluded them for so long, they weren’t kidding. The Tigers — and a hoard of Orange-cladded faithful — came here Tuesday evening to the Memorial Fieldhouse near McKinley High School for Division IV regional play for the first time since 1977, meeting McDonald. Now, for the first time in school history, the Tiger boys will return here with a trip to the OHSAA State Basketball Tournament in Columbus on the line after they used a strong second half to pull away from the previously undefeated Blue Devils by a 65-49 count. “We knew the potential to take this step was there coming (into the game),” said Shadyside head coach Ed Ande.
