The Buckeye Local Panthers’ boys track program has needed a spark the past couple of seasons.
So, they went out and hired one of their own to spearhead the program in its quest to return to the levels it formally reached.
Jeremy Vittek — who owns two state title rings as a member of the St. John Central girls coaching staff the past two seasons — has been hired as the head coach at his alma mater.
“I’m excited to be coaching here and I am very pleased with the work our kids have done so far,” Vittek said. “They’ve shown up each day and do whatever we ask them to do.”
The Panthers will be led by the versatile Nick Piergallini who will help the Panthers in relays, 300 hurdles, 800 meters, high jump and 200 meter dash.
