Farmers' Market returns to St. C.

THIS WEEK marks the return of some of St. Clairsville's most popular weekly community events, and organizers are hoping to offer visitors even more entertainment and educational opportunities this year. The Ohio Valley Farmers' Market is now meeting twice weekly to offer local customers the freshest in locally-grown produce, crafts and gift items. The Downtown Farmers Market -- now in its third year -- kicked off this past Tuesday, and the weekly Farmer's Market at the old Belmont County Fairgrounds kicks off Saturday. The St. Clairsville Downtown Farmers Market made its debut in 2005, bringing hundreds of visitors to the downtown area every Tuesday evening from 4-7 p.m. The weekly event features the freshest locally grown produce and wonderful homespun crafts. Held each Tuesday evening from June through September, the market brings the quality, flavor, and the neighborly ambience of traditional "town-square" marketplaces to historic downtown St. Clairsville.
