No of course not. Nor is it required for football players to play with concussive injuries that debilitate them later in life. It is also unnessary for baseball players to use steroids but they do it anyway. Why? The almighty dollar via ticket sales and jerseys, and endorsed sporting goods, etc. etc.

Well said Mr. Lucas. No it's not just you.
It's our society that. Take the use of alcohol for instance. You try to tell your kids not to consume the stuff because it will eventually consume you. But the alcohol producers tell our kids, It's OK just "Drink Responsibly".

Its not just you!....We have an irresponsible government that hates the term "personal responsibility" so they try to blame inanimate objects(like guns) for the violent behavior of people....the violence you describe in sports pales in comparison to that on certain CD's and video games....of course, government cant try to cancel your second amendment rights by laying the blame where it really belongs!
