Rubio had a chance last night to end the negatively & bluster and set a new course for his party. Sadly, he failed. Same old ideas, same old GOP.

Obama had a chance to explain why gasoline was about 1.61 in Dec. 2008,3.26 in Dec. 2012 and is now 3.60 and continuing to climb. But he chose instead to focus on everything else, and I mean everything. Communist President and his Communist followers want to stick their noses in every aspect of American society and change every aspect of American life to fit their perceptions. Taxes went back up for the working person so the Communist wants to offset that by demanding employers who can't afford it, raise the minimum wage. Communist are OK with adding a minimum wage increase to the cost of ObamaCare and causing business to layoff employees or close. Communist not known for being deep thinkers. Must be Bush's fault.

"Americans don't expect government to solve every problem," he said. "They do expect us to forge reasonable compromise where we can."

I didn't watch; did he stumble over the pronunciation of "compromise"? I guess it depends on the meaning of "reasonable".

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

A ruling intelligentsia, whether in Europe, Asia or Africa, treats the masses as raw material to be experimented on, processed, and wasted at will.
