@ LTCOL: You assume that anyone with conservative views listens to the shows you mentioned. That is incorrect and a narrow prism through which to view the world. I agree with your points but one cannot paint in broad strokes the opinions which may run counter to yours. That's all I was trying to say.
Promo61, not sure what you meant by the comment that "I assume too much". I have worked for the government for 21+ years. Yes... the government does include the military. I have worked and lived in other countries..... pretty familiar with life outside of the Ohio Valley. You assume that there are individuals who are looking out for your best interest (individuals getting rich off of your fears.....). Wake up and smell the roses. Life is too short. Common sense is apparently not a common virtue in this country. Solving important issues in a logical manner is not the number one agenda of the "talking heads".....they prefer chaos which =power, which in turn=wealth. The volume needs to be turned down and people need to take a step back and find solutions for the "common good", so that we can actually move forward.
No one is trying to take away the ability to have a gun. Listening to the likes of "Faux News", Limbaugh, Coulter, Palin and all other hopeless ill-educated individuals, who are getting rich off of fear and anger is part of the problem. I am sure that the Founding Fathers would agree that we should all strive to apply "common sense" to important issues for the "common good". We live in a society that is way different than the Colonial period. Would love to debate this further, but I am a little busy today.... haven't retired yet from the USMC. Semper Fi.
Thoughtful....I agree, but it would be helpful if at least some people voicing their opinions at least knew one end of a gun from another!....wouldnt hurt if a couple of them got familiar with our Constitution, either.
Please explain how gun control will dimish the 500 plus murders in Chicago, most of which will be committed by hand guns. already, Chicago has the strictest gun laws in this control.. If anyone can make a valid case, I will change my position to save lives. Let the discussion begin but let us keep it on topic and hold back emotion, personal attacks, and below the line comments, PLEASE.......
Two blind mice, see how they rant... When all else fails play the race card. Expand your mind one degree and amazing things start to happen. I guess a closed small mind is more comfortable.
BCF. If I thought gun laws would stop violence I would support them. There is no evidence that it does. I would accept background checks, more controls over those with mental issues getting guns. Truly, that is the real problem. criminals will always have guns. Look at theCity of Chicago.
Les us lay aside emotion and put in play clear logical thinking........
Thoughtful---dont bother with these idiots. If obama changed his tune about guns, five seconds later they would be pro-gun....they are mindless followers who find thinking for themselves too difficult. Mr. Farmer demands to be a CITIZEN....these jokers are content to be SUBJECTS of their lawn jockey "king".
BCF, You would lose this debate.Take a walk down history lane and see the many countries and leaders that took away the people's rights and liberties. Millions and millions, and millions. Study, read, and think. forget about Fox news. Nothing to do with this issue..................
Excellent letter, Mr. Farmer. BCF forgot to mention that the REASON you wont get your guns taken from you is because the fools he so ardently supports lack the funds and the support to do so....for now.....but they WILL keep trying. Fortunately for gun owners and supporters of our Constitution, Oblamer turned this chore over to national joke Joe Biden, a complete foot-in-mouth fool, and Diane Feinstein, whose face is more damaging than any weaponry.
Another letter from another misinformed soul. No one is coming to take your guns away. Turn off Fox "News" and Limbaugh. There is no truth to be found from either.

Logical thinking is not exactly their strong point, Thoughtful. They think what obama and uncle tom biden tell them to think.

Right wing media profits from keeping the rubes scared 24/7. As you can see on this page, their plan works perfectly.
