In reality..4.25 mil levy has a real chance of passing. 8.5 is pretty stiff. especially in light of the EPA coming in and dropping the bomb on the sewage situation. We are obviously going to get hit with that in the near future. The schools aren't the only ones that need more money. The police are underpaid. This really needs addressed. Oh..and the fire dept issue. That's 4 issues. Some will be forced fees. Lets be realistic.

Kudos to those trying to make a difference in an uphill battle. Though the system is broken and inefficient, those who choose to make lemonade out of lemons should be congratulated and supported.

MAYBE THE SCHOOL SHOULD TRY AND HELP THEMSELF A LITTLE MORE BY QUIT WASTING MONEY, BEFORE ASKING THE PEOPLE OF THIS VILLAGE TO BAIL THEM OUT.

belres1; the issue you describe is systemic, not defined by one person. Referred to as double-dipping, it may not be tasteful but is perfectly legal. The school funding system we currently have was declared unconstitutional many years ago but nothing has changed. The questions should be asked of our state representatives, not local school boards and administrations. The will and courage to do what's right to fundamentally alter the funding mechanism is sorely lacking in our state government. In other words, you're addressing the symptom and not the illness.

Only 75 cents a day? Why are they assuming your property is only worth $100,000? Very misleading article. Use annual figures; not monthly or daily.
