Should have spent a little wiser in the beginning. Did we really need all the fancy art to teach our children??????

LOL, I would say most people don't even come close to living within their means...i have plenty of friends on welfare who buy their kids iPhone 5s AND ipads and a better cell phone plans than I have??? I think these cuts the district is making is all about living within their means. I am mad about a few thing but i voted for this darn levy. we need to wise up and fix things, there is a lot of work to do and we're not going to do it by gossiping and complaining on facebook.

I do not reside in this school district but in general I would say that the reason school levies are not readily passing is that people are trying their best to live within their means and adding a tax burden onto stressed budgets is not something they are going to volunteer. As far as the pay to play business--it would seem to me that many of the extra curricular activities could be cut back or eliminated. Concentrate on teaching the essentials and cut out waste.

Direct quote from Larry Elliot, "With the levy defeat, the school district is not only forced to live within its means, but now has to make some hard choices and cuts."

Does he understand what he just said? Welcome to the real world where working families need to "live within their means." His attitude is the height of arrogance a hubris. The taxpayers are not an infinite source of money to be spent by government! And I'm tired of all the boo-hooing "it's for the kids".

Our country far outspends other countries, and in return we get a majority of functional illiterates who cannot make change for a Big Mac if the cash register isn't working. .
