Gordon Gee has been a great President at OSU. No doubt I have personally made statements within closed meetings and public forum that taken out of context would prove to be an embarrassment.

Dr. Gee has done many great things for our beloved OSU...and he was close to the students, ....often appearing unannounced to their fun activities and parties. No other Buckeye President can claim that close relationship with the student body. Plus our University has grown immensely under his leadership ....in academics, foundation money and student body...plus national rankings.

He is a great speaker and I am sure the speech he was giving, he had the audience in his hand. I am sure many of the Priest I have known would have laughed with him on his comments. They would agree that his early efforts to get Notre****into the Big 10 proved ND "to be a tough nut to crack" .... and they would be the first to admit it.

What a pity that we have to be so "politically correct" all the time when you are in the public's eye. It takes so much humor away from an already humorless world and the ability to laugh at ourselves. Oh what a boring nation we are becoming. Do not our First Amendment rights allow us to poke fun at anything or anyone anymore.

No doubt, Dr. Gee has done the correct thing by stepping down and no doubt today he regrets what was said, perhaps taken out of context. It cost him his job unfortunately and cost us a great leader at OSU.

We need to lighten up!!!
