RUZ...you are absolutely right.....abuse and addiction are costing us more than just money....we are losing some of our best and brightest....future doctors, engineers and scholars who never get their chance because they fell into a trap, and usually because they were too young and inexperienced in life to know better. BTW----dont be concerned with the moronic statements of a couple of losers....anyone with common sense can understand where you are coming from with your comments.

Republicans know that Democrats are ignorant and therefore cannot control themselves. But they don't hold it against them. They trust that one day they will lift themselves up from the primordial ooze and think original happy thoughts.

It's no mystery why Republicans are against education. They fear an informed populace.

...and another thing: there's absolutely nothing wrong with Mr. Lucas having a little hope for someone like that. Addiction is a disease and can overtake and overwhelm a person to the point that they really have no control anymore and need serious help. BCF, OLUH: I guess no one ever believed in you the way some believe in others; otherwise, you wouldn't be so quick to judge and condemn...

To all those with negative comments, why?? This man was just speaking his mind and addressing the growing problem of the drug epidemic-you turned it into such a bad thing! Are those of you really that immature to try to bring disgrace to someone like Mr. Lucas? I happen to sympathize and empathize with this man because I have seen first-hand what drug use and abuse can do to a family. I think it's time for those of you to grow up a little and quit making comments (negative mostly) just to make comments! Maybe you were never taught "If you don't have anything nice to say, KEEP YOUR*****MOUTH SHUT!!"

You wrote a good letter, Mr. Lucas. You did the right thing trying to help this young guy, and hopefully he will overcome his addiction problems, before they take a very heavy toll on him. As you can tell by the comments of BCF and Oluh, irreversible brain damage has serious consequences.

This guy is ****** because he was gullible enough to get burned----by a person he knew had a problem. LOL BCF hits a home run, turley as usual, strikes out.

When Mr. Lucas said that "God does not make junk", he obviously forgot about people like YOU.
