Short-sightedness is only one part of the problem, lack of funds or disinterest could have been two others...just sayin', give people a fair shake. In hindsight it's easy to see what the outcome could have been, but reality likely presented formidable obstacles at the time.

what an attraction it Could Have Been for Bellaire.Foolish vision to not restore the home. a real bone head decision. Very Sad !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Shameful the way history is treated in Belmont County. That house should have been restored and still standing.

Yes, a great land mark thats even in the history book.. Built by a coal miner and his mule JACK.. BUT, the dumb******torn it down so they could build a motel on that property.. Typical Bellaire idiots..
