On a previous post I jumped on the bandwagon to blame EAP....on second thought what an opportunity for another owner to come in and take advantage of the situation and open it non union.......I find it odd that Ormet didn't at least approach the workforce asking for concessions....make me wonder

This place is collateral damage in the War on Coal. Electricity is over 40% of the cost of smelting. coal generated electricity has become too expensive. The next question is, will Wayzata foreclose on the debt or buy the plant? Foreclosure means a repeat of Severstal, no healthcare for the displaced employees.

a very sad day for these 750 employees. Let us hope that Wayzata will find a way to make this deal and reopen..............
