Kudos to you, Brandi. I wish I'd had the guts to write this after dealing with this shelter various times. I've adopted a few times from this shelter. Anytime I've visited, the place has been dirty, the dogs chained, sometimes with chains bigger than they are. Yes, it's a shelter, so no one expects it to be spotless, but to expect these animals to stand there with excrement all over the place with flies swarming everywhere isn't in the best interest of the animals or anyone else. Each dog we brought home had fleas and worms. First stop was always the groomer and the vet. There's no customer service, no one knows anything, our calls and emails went unanswered. We had to continually stop at the shelter to get any information and we were always spoken to as if we were bothering them. There are lots of shelters around; we went to Belmont because we wanted to help the dogs in our own county. Next time we adopt, we'll be visiting another county's shelter unless something changes at this one.

Give the dogs Obamacare.....the people dont want it......and its a plan for the dogs anyway!...on second thought, never mind....I like animals way too much to see them get treated as poorly as citizens.
