Dear Editor, The Court of public opinion is both a powerful ally and a driving force of the political process. Swaying public opinion is another matter....

My area will be just fine, thank you. This valley and all the little town and villages will endure like they have done for over two hundred years. Take you boxer briefs back to your arm chair and have a good life. Just as long as I bow to your opinion, I'm fine, right? Wrong. I make one comment and you want to start bashing on something you know nothing about. What way are you related to the mayor's family??

Bossman - I am more of a boxer brief kinda guy, but I'm not sure what my underwear choice has to do with anything. If you are in fact an average valley resident then I need to take my high and might self somewhere where people have class and actually want to see their area get better.

Scooter66- I am just an average resident living in this valley. I have MY OWN opinions. I am allowed to express them. Maybe others feel the same way, maybe not. What is wrong are people like YOU who probably don't even live around here passing your high and mighty judgement on me.I did not say anything derogatory about him either. Just stated the vote showed he lost also. Put on your big girl panties and lighten up.
The mayor's family needs to step aside. They are one comedy of errors after another. Smith is a blowhole. All talk and no action. Good luck Bridgeport in the next few years. i look forward to the quality entertainment your joke of a town will be providing via your council meetings over the coming months.
Bossman - this shows the absolute lack of class that the Smith camp continues to show. Your comment on this page is everything that is wrong with politics and today's society. Gallagher said nothing derogatory about any of the candidates and only touted his experience and his platform. From what I can tell, he took the high road in this election. Smith and Lenz keep talking about the mayor and his cronies - isn't that what they are doing? They can't run on an individual platform because they have to stick together - otherwise Smith's wife could lose her paycheck. Sound familiar. Can you tell me anything that Smith, Lenz, et al have accomplished? I would venture anything they supported benefited their interests only. I knew most of the candidates many years ago. The Gallaghers seem to be very involved in the community. The Coynes are a great family. Lenz seemed like a good guy, but I have to question his judgement hanging with Smith...
Oooops. I guess the people didn't want him either. Bye.
It is refreshing to have someone talk about the positive side of things ... hearing all the bickering (and reading it) has gotten old. You have my vote!
