Don't believe everything you read or hear, folks. Judy Geimer is Verna's yes- person. Verna lies; Judy swears to it. That place is filthy and I'm not talking dirt or mud. ACT can't begin to clean that place up because the dog warden, assistant dog warden, the dog warden's husband (good old Bob) and the dog warden's puppet (Judy) need to GO NOW. I too used to be a volunteer. I'm sorry that it's the dogs that pay the price, but unloading the riff raff will go a long way in getting that place cleaned up.

Judy needs to go too. She has turned a blind eye on what Verna does because she doesn't want to be bothered about her. They let Verna do as see pleases because no one on the boards wants to step up and run the place PROPERLY!!! Answer that Judy? And Bob?

Judy Geimer stated, "We're a kind little group, contrary to that Facebook bashing." This is the FB "bashing" that I read: - Inadequate drainage in yard. - Inadequate dog boxes in yard. - Dogs being kept out 24 hours a day in yard. - Inappropriate behavior of staff towards adopters/rescues. - Poor community outreach skills. - Poor record keeping. - Attitude problems from shelter director. Results: unnecessary killing of dogs, bad-will with community, poorly run facility, and a general population that won't take it any more.

ACT recommendations (per this article): - Architect to design better drainage in yard - New dog boxes built by prison - Humane Society will be removing dogs from 24hr chain-out (in other words, don't do that BCARL). - workshops on compassion, fatigue, burnout, customer service and electronic data management, and a review of all policies and procedures.

So basically ACT agrees with all the "FB bashers" about this place. Nice bullying

Readers beware: this is not the complete story. The investigation mentioned is being conducted by a volunteer group who is providing RECOMMENDATIONS to improve the shelter. This is NOT the final word. The Ohio SPCA is currently in the process of conducting a formal investigation of unethical, criminal and illegal actions of the BCARL and the animal shelter personnel. They have been flooded with complaints and information. If you or anyone you know is aware of any wrongdoing or complaints, you are urged to contact ohiospca@frontier****.

The WHOLE board needs replaced and the dog warden needs to go NOW, not later. I used to volunteer there but will not until major changes happen. And I bet there are a LOT more than me feel this way.
